July 14, 2007 Mt. Madonna (in conjunction with South County Campout)

The Place

        Mt Madonna is a 3,219-acre park within the Santa Clara County park system. It is located along the ridgeline north of Highway 152 that separates Santa Clara and Santa Cruz Counties. The park is a diverse mix of redwood, fir, oak and madrone. With over 20 miles of trails, 117 campsites, 1 group campsite and several picnic areas it is an excellent place for a hike and a meeting. Our hike will be held in conjunction with the South County campout.

Getting There

        DIRECTIONS:  Take 101 South to the Highway 152 West exit. Take 152 West to the summit and turn right on Pole Line Rd. If you pass Mt Madonna Inn you’ve gone too far. We will be meeting at the parking lot next to the amphitheater.

Drive time is 1 Hour 10 minutes – Parking $6 – Dogs allowed on leash
