Pogonip is a beautiful 640 acre Santa Cruz City Park, nestled between UCSC, Henry Cowell State Park and the Harvey West City Park. Pogonip is rich in human history and biodiversity. There are miles of trails with incredible views of Santa Cruz and the Monterey Bay.

DIRECTIONS: From San Jose, take Highway 17 South to Highway 1 North and onto Mission St. Take Mission Street North to Bay Street. Make a right onto Bay Street. Take Bay to the entrance to UCSC and make a left onto Empire Grade. At the West entrance to UCSC make a right onto Heller Dr. Take Heller Dr. to the end and the UCSC North Remote parking lot.
Drive time is 50 minutes – Parking Free – Dogs not allowed

(Level 3 - Miles: 4.5 - Elevation ~300') Our hike will take us from UCSC among the redwoods to the lime kilns in Pogonip and out to the fringe of the open grasslands. We will hold our meeting overlooking the City of Santa Cruz and the Monterey Bay.
