The Place

Butano State Park is located halfway between Santa Cruz and Half Moon Bay.
Getting There
From San Jose, take 280 North toward San Francisco, exit 92/Half Moon Bay (west). Go through Half Moon Bay and 92 will end at Hwy 1. Head South on Hwy 1. Go about 16 miles and turn left onto Pescadero. Take Pescadero to Cloverdale, make a Right on Cloverdale. Watch for park signs (brown ones). The Park will be on your left. Drive time est. 1 hour. Parking is $6.

Walking the Walk
 The trails are Jackson Flats to Canyon to Indian to Doe Ridge to Goat Hill to campfire center. Going back Butano Creek trail to Six Bridges.


Level 3 - Miles 9 - Elevation Change - 800'
This hike will take us through the beautiful redwoods to a ridge and back to the campfire center, where we will have our meeting.

Know Before You Go

This park is made up of mostly redwoods and creeks, so the climate can be chilly, even in summer, so dress appropriately (layers). Bring adequate water. No dogs on trails.
