Mount Madonna 10 Year Anniversary Retreat |

Celebrating Wild Recovery’s anniversary, we will campout at the Valley View 1 camping area in Mt. Madonna, and have a "Hungry Hiker Potluck BBQ" at the Azalea group picnic area Saturday February 14, 2009.
From your retreat Host:
Hello Hikers and Campers! We have reserved the following camp sites at Mt. Madonna County Park:
Sties #124, 125, 126, and 128. These sites are beautiful and spacious, so we can easily and comfortably accommodate all of the
campers.
This park allows two cars and 8 people per campsite. Two pets per site on leashes are allowed.
Check in time for Friday, Feb. 13 will be 1PM. We are hiking that day as well, at 12:00 NOON, so we will be done in time to set up camp.
Camping is 15.00 per person. This includes children.
I am looking for a lot of wood. Please call me if you can donate wood to this retreat.
Saturday February 14th, is our hike and our "Hungry Hiker Pot Luck" at the Azalea Knoll Shelter.
Saturdays’ hike begins and ends at
the shelter.
Hikers can transport their pot luck items ahead of time if they like, I have members who will remain at the
shelter while we hike.
Please call me for ideas or suggestions as to what to bring. We have a very large BBQ pit at our
disposal.
We are inviting the Fellowship to join us at this celebration of Wild
Recovery’s’ 10 year Anniversary.
We have the shelter until sunset.
There will be a campfire meeting at 8 PM on Sat as well.
If you want to reserve a spot on this retreat, please call me. Jennifer N. 408-838-0833
Winter Retreat Schedule Friday, Feb 13th Noon-Meet at Trail Head for afternoon hike. Sprig Lake Staging Area. You will have to drive. It is NOT walking distance from the Campground. This hike is a 4.58 Mi loop, level 2.5, and I predict it will take around 2 hrs. Pack a nice lunch. There will not be a meeting. Camp Check in is 1 PM. I think the ranger will let us drop stuff at 11:30, for those who want to unload before we meet for our hike. If not, the hikers can make camp after the hike. Campfire meeting: 7:30PM. Saturday, Feb. 14th 10:00 AM-Meet at Azalea Knoll Shelter, which is close to the trail head for our Sat hike, as well as the location of the potluck. Suggestions for your potluck contributions: you can bring it early, if it is not perishable. If perishable, our campsites are pretty close to the shelter, so it should not be a problem. 1:00-3:PM Break bread, trickle off the trail. I doubt the hike should take more than 5 hrs for the less speedy hikers. 4PM-Wild Recovery Meeting of Narcotics Anonymous. Regular format. End of meeting until sunset-Enjoy the shelter, fellowship, clean up. 8:PM-Campfire meeting. Sunday, Feb. 15th 9AM-JFT NA meeting. 10AM-noon-Break Camp.

Directions: From San Jose, take 101S to 152 West. Follow the signs through Gilroy for 152 West, it zig zags. You will see the sign for Mt. Madonna after being on 152 W. ten Miles.
Drive Time from San Jose - 45 minutes. Day Use Fee - 6.00 Dogs - OK on leash

Saturdayd's Hike is a Level 3 hike. It is 6.5 miles long with an elevation gain of 1,000 feet.
We will meet at the Azalea picnic area for
the hike, on Sat, Feb 14th, which is going to be a loop incorporating Spring trail and Ridge Trail, up to Rock
Springs Trail, and back down Spring trail to the Giant Twins Trail to see the elder trees in the forest, and back
to the Azalea picnic area for our meeting and lunch.
For those who wish to camp, we will be meeting up at the

for 24 campers.
