Yosemite National Park is one of the most awesome natural wonders of the world. Almost vertical walls rise up to 4,733ft above the valley floor. The famous profile of Half Dome dominates the east end and El Capitan the west. Some of the world’s highest and most beautiful waterfalls pour from the cliffs, and the granite formations are a site to behold. If you have never been to Yosemite, you are in for a treat you will never forget!
Getting ThereDirections: From San Jose: Take 680 N to 580 E to 205 E to 120 E. Hodgdon Meadow Campground is located ˝ mile from the big Oak Flat Entrance station. We are in group sites A and B. |
We will leave camp at 5 a.m. to be on the trail by 6 am. There will be another hike option for those who would prefer a more moderate hike while still enjoying the wonders and sites of Yosemite. For those hiking half dome you need gloves for the cables and a water filter or water purification pills – you can NOT carry enough water!

Half Dome is a Level 5 hike. It is 17 miles elevation gain of 4,800 feet. Host Jeannie H.
For Camping – bring all food in containers to store in bear boxes. NO food can be left in vehicles.
Drive time: 4 Hours - Fees: Camping $15 – Park Fee $20.
Dogs Not Allowed on Trails.
