San Jose, California |
Wilder Ranch Santa Cruz County |
Wilder Ranch, is located just North of the city of Santa Cruz and encompasses
more than 7000 acres along the Central Coast of California. With more than 34 miles of trails for
hiking, biking and horse back riding, it is a park with a bit of something for everyone. Wilder
has some of the most incredible Monterey Bay viewgasms available anywhere. With rolling hills,
incredible grasslands and pockets of redwoods, firs, pines and oaks, it is a tree hugger’s
paradise.
Definitely a bucket list kind of park.
We will be taking to the hills above Highway 1 through grasslands, rolling hills and a variety of forest habitat. At least half of the hike will be without shade so layers, hats and sunscreen are highly recommended. Although the elevation change is only 400 feet, there are a few steep sections but none of them are very long.
