Nisene Marks is a beautiful park with 40 + miles of hiking trails. The canopys of redwoods is a favorite to all.
The park offers rugged semi-wilderness, rising from sea level to steep coastal mountains of more than 2,600 feet.
Once the site of logging operations until the 1920s, visitors can still find evidence of logging operations, mill
sites and trestles in the park. The land was donated to the state by the Marks family in 1963.
We will head out on Aptos Creek Fire Rd. to Loma Prieta Grade Trail to Bridge Creek Trail, to Maple Falls. We will return on the Bridge Creek Trail to the longer side of Loma Prieta Grade Trail.

From San Jose take Highway 17 South to Hwy 1 South. Get off the Freeway in Aptos at the
State Park Exit.go left off the Exit away from the beach.Turn Right on Soquel. You will wind under a train tressle
and see the Britania arms on your left.Right away you will see Aptos Creek Rd just before the shopping center.
Turn left on Aptos Creek Rd and follow the signs to the park..
Travel time from San Jose: 60 Minutes.
We will meet at the Porter Family Picnic Area approx 2.1 miles from the ranger station.
Day Use Fee $10.00 at Kiosk, may be Self Pay, so have Change.
